and within the physical body, versus what unfolds outside of it. The piece delves into the

concepts of being “inside” and “outside,” touching on various aspects of these

experiences. It reflects on what it means to be in one’s personal, safe space and yet be

influenced by the external world. What it means to be who we are and when we still need

to hide ourselves.

The work navigates the tension between stepping in and stepping out: stepping into a

familiar and secure space where one can freely be who they want, sheltered from external

judgment, versus stepping out into the world where one no longer feels protected.

The piece explores the pull between the inner and outer worlds. Moving in and out of the

room, out of the closet and out of the body, while simultaneously diving back into these

It feels like I am always slightly before or slightly after the moment, never fully inside it. Things end before they begin, and

actions happen without being fully experienced.

I find myself moving from one situation to another, responding, adjusting, managing, while questioning this continuous motion:

what I am actually moving toward, and why it is not easy to stay present within it. I notice how I can be inside one action while

already thinking about the next, never fully arriving in what I am doing. I return to small, immediate satisfactions that quickly

fade, to things that suggest control or relief but do not last.

The work explores a dissonance between time, body, and language. It moves between text, spoken words, and physical action,
